Louis Gaudreau has been building lawn Adirondack furniture since 1995.

A basically self-taught carpenter, his apprenticeship, nonetheless, does include a course in fine woodworking at Mexico’s national institute of fine arts in Mexico City  and nine months of work as apprentice cabinetmaker in Caracas Venezuela.

The philosophy to which he holds dearly is that the outdoors contribute a lot for one’s enjoyment of life but mother nature, all too often, has a way to drive us back to the ease and comfort of the indoors all too soon.

Thus the thought of allowing people to spend more time outside by providing them with the means to relax, read or eat comfortably in the great outdoors.

Time had come for a durable, practical and aesthetic lawn chair based on the traditional Adirondack chair.

In time he developed what is now the Louis Gaudreau Adirondack chair.

Every year, apart from the custom furniture that Mr. Gaudreau builds, new models are developed in his shop and made available to clients.

Jardin de Ville 8128 Décarie in Montréal and Country Living 361 Victoria in Westmount helped make Mr. Gaudreau’s furniture popular the first years after he started out.  Available at his workshop
